In this week’s episode of Windshield Time, hosts Chris and Chris are joined by Service Excellence Training’s newest coach: Mike to talk about the High I Profile in this continuing series about DiSC profiles. The i in DiSC stands for Influencer and the Influencer profile very closely aligns with the Meyer-Briggs Extrovert archetype. Outgoing, verbose and friendly, the High I is concerned about being liked and making friends.
Working with a High I Client
The High I client is going to be chatty and personable. They are people pleasers and outgoing. Unlike the High D personality, High I are spontaneous rather than rigid. The High I profile will make choices without much technical thought but their main concern is prestige and their reputations so things like name brand matter a lot more than other specs that may come with a particular unit.
What High I Personalities Dislike
The High I profile is not going to respond well to getting too technical and they can be easily irritated when you are unwilling to work with their usually hectic schedules, so be prepared for more than a few calls about rescheduling an appointment. The High I tends to make choices on the fly rather than doing a lot of research beforehand and losing their prestige status is a major concern for them. They still have to have the nicest lawn on the block and the best unit that can be bragged about to all the neighbors.
Communicating with High I Clients
High I profiles are very concerned about what others think of them, including you. You have to make a positive impression with them to get anything done. When they are under pressure, they are likely to become sarcastic and at their core they want to be admired. Communicating with High I profiles can be a little tricky as they very much want you to be impressed and interested by them and they can be fast talkers with lots to say so laugh at their jokes, smile and be friendly with High I profiles to seal the deal and make your service visit a success.
In Conclusion
Working with High I profiles can be fun as they are outgoing and easy to talk to but like all of the DiSC profiles, they present their own challenges to those of us in the home services industry. If you would like to learn more about DiSC profiles and how they can accelerate your business and energize your employees; we highly recommend our PRESS PLAY courses.
We’ll see you in the next episode of Windshield Time.
