Is Live Training Still Relevant?

live training

In the past, it was almost unheard of for training companies to conduct their lessons remotely. Of course, with the advancement of technology, what was once impossible is now an everyday occurrence. Even more importantly, the recent events over the past couple of years have changed the entire world’s perception of what remote learning and working can look like.

Service Excellence was particularly affected by this radical change of pace, and we responded by introducing our PRESS PLAY online classes. Adapting to the needs of our clients is important to us, and our online learning has served many technicians, salespeople, CSRs and owners across the nation! Does the availability and success of online courses mean that attending live training events is a thing of the past?

Service Excellence LIVE 2021

This year, about 30 technicians and salespeople made the trip from several different states to meet in Austin, TX for our first (and only) LIVE PRESS PLAY event of the year. What motivated them to return to a face-to-face training session? What were they looking to get out of the PRESS PLAY experience?

Safe Learning

Our live training sessions are held in conference rooms that are spacious enough for safe learning. The manageable size of the class allows us to thoroughly cover all specific questions while keeping the gathering familiar and trusting. We encourage hourly breaks to give our trainees and trainers an opportunity to get fresh air and some space from the group if needed. We want the entire experience to be as positive and effective as possible.

The In-Person Experience

There are many benefits to receiving training, period. That’s important to establish. However, just as remote learning has its perks, so does in-person learning. Our classes this year arrived seeking the unique experience that gathering with like-minded industry experts provides. They were pleasantly surprised by how informative the lessons were and how many questions were answered by simply listening to the group around them. Shared experiences are just as powerful as differing experiences, and our trainees get the full impact of learning with people who are similar and different from them in many ways.

Culture Immersion

One of the biggest sources of success within Service Excellence and throughout the PRESS PLAY process is subscribing to the culture of behavior we set forth. When our trainees attend our classes live, it’s like they are living out our mission and principles for a few days. Even this small amount of time is enough to send them on their way with a deep impression of the commitment, dedication and knowledge they need to implement the processes they learn in class. That culture we teach can mean the difference between grasping the PRESS PLAY concept fully and only understanding it a little bit.

What’s Next For Live Events?

Service Excellence is dedicated to serving all of our clients, which means we want to make ourselves available to those who are willing to work toward success. Our LIVE event in 2021 proved to us that there are still many professionals out there who are willing and ready to use live training to their advantage. We value the benefits of live training, online training and even private training, so we won’t stop working with those invested in change.
